We want to be ‘net zero carbon’ by 2040. This means reducing the amount of carbon we produce through our buildings and operations.
We have a vision for sustainable healthcare spaces, helping the NHS and all our healthcare customers meet their net zero carbon aspirations. This means building sustainable schemes and making existing buildings more energy efficient, along with supporting our customers and suppliers to reduce their energy usage.
Healthy Environment targets

Portfolio EUI (Energy Usage Intensity)
We’re aiming to reduce energy used across our portfolio to 55kWh/m2 (65% reduction from 2022 baseline)

Net zero carbon developments
By 2026 we want all our on site developments to be 100% net zero carbon.

EPC B or Better
We’re targeting EPC B or Better across our portfolio.
156 kWh/m2
average energy use intensity (EUI) across our portfolio (2023)
38 %
on site developments that are net zero (2024)
66 %
of our portfolio is EPC B or better (2024)
What we're doing...

Our Net Zero Carbon Pathway, launched in 2023, sets out how we will become a net zero business by 2026, and net zero across our whole portfolio by 2040.

We have developed a Net Zero Carbon Design Guide which will inform all our future developments, with practical and design-led guidance.

Our sustainability reporting demonstrates our positive impact on the communities and environment that we operate in, and how we're managing material ESG risks.
