Assura Group, the UK’s leading healthcare property developer and investor, in partnership with LSP Developments Ltd, has completed its latest state-of-the-art project in Gelligaer, South Wales.

The new 9,321 sq ft facility, which is split across two floors, will replace the existing Gelligaer Surgery and expands the practice to accommodate a GP training centre and 270 sq ft of space for additional growth.

Andrew Darke, managing director of property at Assura Group, commented: “The new surgery facilities will boost the medical offering to patients in the local area and provides a long-awaited home for the GPs at Gelligaer. We’re very pleased to have completed work on the Surgery and have greatly enjoyed working with LSP on the scheme.”

Dr John Holland, lead GP at Gelligaer Surgery, said: “Our team is delighted with the new facilities, which are a significant improvement on our old surgery. With the room to expand we can continue to build and develop our current service to the local community, as well as training new GPs in a modern and pleasant environment.”

James Pritchard, development manager at LSP Developments said: “We’re very pleased to have completed the new Gelligaer Surgery, which will provide a modern environment for young doctors to train in and also improves the surgery’s offering to its current patients.”
