Graham Roberts, Chief Executive commented: “This week has seen yet more major changes in the health sector with NHS England, Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS Property Services all taking on new roles. James has been at the forefront of strategic thinking in Primary Care for many years and I am delighted he will be helping us both navigate the complexities of the NHS and more effectively deliver practical solutions to the benefit of our core customers.”
Commenting on the appointment Dr James Kingsland said: “I am delighted to be working with Assura to assist in the provision of primary care premises since without adequate suitable premises the agenda for change and delivery of more services in the community cannot be achieved.”
Having previously sold its non-real estate businesses in medical services and pharmacy, Assura is now solely focused on developing and owning medical centres to improve patient care and the delivery of health solutions in primary care. This refocus also enabled Assura to elect earlier this week for REIT status, a favourable tax regime for listed real estate businesses introduced in 2006.
