The UK’s leading healthcare property developer and investor, Assura Group, has completed its work on the extension and reconfiguration of the Castle Mead Medical Centre in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

The extension has created a pharmacy and three new consulting rooms, which will add to and complement the services currently provided by Castle Mead Medical Centre. The pharmacy is to be managed by Cohens Chemist.

Alison Ellis, practice manager at Castle Mead Medical Centre, said, “The extension is really important to us; with its upgraded facilities patients will benefit from three modern GP consultations rooms and access to a pharmacy 100 hours per week, right on their doorstep.”

Amanda Roddy, development manager at Assura Group, said, “The Castle Mead Medical Centre is a great example of how medical practices can boost and revitalise their premises, without the heavy costs of a complete rebuild. With both a GP surgery and a pharmacy in the same building, the extension has created a more pleasant and efficient patient experience.”

Barrie Mills, property development manager at Cohens Chemist, said, “The addition of the pharmacy makes medical access easier and simpler for patients. We’re looking forward to working alongside the current staff at Castle Mead, and extending our service into Hinckley.”
