His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester has unveiled a commemorative plaque at the official opening ceremony of our Kibworth Medical Centre building.
HRH The Duke of Gloucester was given a tour of the £3 million facility, which opened for patients in July 2017. The Duke also took the opportunity to speak to doctors, nurses and staff at the practice. The Duke of Gloucester also heard from patients, met the construction and development team and was involved in an exercise class.
The new site has 11 multi-purpose consulting and treatment rooms, a minor operations suite and a dedicated counselling room.
It also boasts a car park providing more than 60 car parking spaces for patients and staff in beautifully landscaped surroundings.
The new facility has proven popular with patients since opening, with the practice receiving positive feedback from patients.
Dr Naz Choudhury, Senior Partner at the centre, says: “We’re honoured to have had His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester unveil a commemorative plaque at the official opening of our new medical centre. The modern, fit for purpose facility has become a really valuable part of the community and we look forward to continuing to provide services for our patients from the medical centre in the years to come.”
Tim Sacks, Chief Operating Officer at East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group, adds: “We are committed to meeting the healthcare needs of the local population and are delighted this investment into purpose-built, modern premises has benefitted patients in Kibworth and the surrounding areas.”
Jane Geary, Chair of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) said: “The PPG has been encouraged and supported by the practice to be part of the process from inception to completion to act as a conduit for the patient voice. We are delighted that we as patients now have a long awaited first class facility for this and future generation.”
Ashley Seymour, our Senior Development Manager says: “This is a building ready for the primary care of the future. It’s a wonderful example of what can be done, through great spaces, to help GPs give patients easier access to all sorts of health services.”
