Kerswella Care gain a share of our grant funding
01 Apr 2019

A Devon scheme to combat loneliness has received a share of our grant funding thanks to a nomination from the GPs in our Kingskerswell Health Centre building.

Kerswella Care works with people in Kingskerswell, Abbotskerswell, Ipplepen and Coffinswell to combat loneliness by improving access to local activities for well-being, social inclusion and social connections, and by running their own social activities.

Gill Gould the Coordinator at Kerswella Care said: “Social isolation is becoming an epidemic, with an ever-increasing ageing population and front-line services pushed to capacity.  This grant will help us continue to support our monthly Memory Café and other social activities are planned across the community starting with a monthly coffee and cake “shop” based at the Kingskerswell Health Centre in the very attractive conference room. We hope to bring the community to the Health Centre and make this a central hub for our community to meet once a month to socialise over homemade cakes and a decent cup of coffee."
