Our brand-new medical centre building for a Cotswolds village has opened its doors to the public after a seven-year journey to replace the practice’s ageing infrastructure.
The new building for Barn Close Surgery in Station Road, Broadway has officially opened to serve the practice’s 7,000 patients, following years of work to make the project happen.
The new space – designed to be fully flexible for future care and clinical need – replaces Barn Close’s previous building on High Street, which was too small with poor access for patients with disabilities and without the facilities to support the integrated services the practice wants to offer.
The building opened on Monday, October 4 and the practice has already welcomed patients for flu clinics.
Dr. Neil Townsend, from the practice, said: “This is an incredible facility for the village which will ensure a high-quality environment for the delivery of healthcare for the foreseeable future. It delivers a long needed modern clinical building fully kitted out and appropriate to the needs of modern medicine. We are very grateful for the funding support from Assura and the NHS ITTF grant.”
We funded the project, which also had support from the NHS Estates and Technology Transformation Fund (ETTF).
