A Leicestershire GP practice has opened its doors in a brand new building – in a move to offer patients more services closer to home.
Kibworth Medical Centre has begun seeing patients in its new, purpose-built building just metres away from its current outdated premises on Smeeton Road.
The new surgery, which includes eleven consulting and treatment rooms and a minor operations suite, gives the practice space to offer more primary care services to their list of more than 9,000 patients.
Senior Partner Dr Naz Choudhury says: “It’s been a long road to get here and we’re absolutely delighted with the end result. The design and space give our patients the light and airy feel we’ve been looking for, and for the whole practice team we’ve now got the building we need for the work we want to do in future."
Tim Sacks, Chief Operating Officer at East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group said: “This latest investment into modern, purpose-built premises will benefit Kibworth and the surrounding areas.
“We constantly strive to improve patient outcomes and access to health services and these new health care premises will support the patient experience and ensure that clinical needs are met closer to home.”
Our Development Manager, Paul Warwick, who led the project says: “This is a building ready for the primary care of the future. It’s a wonderful example of what can be done, through great spaces, to help GPs deliver the changes they want to make to give patients easier access to all sorts of health services.”
Kibworth’s 900m2 practice was designed by Stringer & Jones Architects and delivered in partnership with Greswolde Construction Limited in a ten-month build.
