We have expanded our healthcare investment across the UK through acquisition of a further 15 healthcare buildings between November 2020 and January 2021.

The recently acquired sites serve more than 180,000 patients and we look forward to working with the relevant healthcare users to support their long-term requirements, from social prescribing initiatives to improving energy efficiency of the buildings. The sites include:

  • Lorraine Hewitt House in London, which is the first drug and rehabilitation building bought by Assura.
  • Cheltenham Family Health Centre, which serves just under 50,000 patients from five surgeries operating in the building.
  • Southglade Medical Practice’s building in Nottingham, from which numerous clinical services are delivered for just over 3,000 people
  • The Ridge Medical Practice building in Bradford, which serves more than 20,000 patients.
  • The Duchy in Harrogate, which is a private hospital building offering operating theatres, X-ray, outpatient, diagnostic facilities and physiotherapy.

Simon Oborn, our Head of Property, said: “It’s always exciting to see GP practices so focused on creating the best environments for patients and staff, and we look forward to working with all of these teams to manage their premises efficiently and sustainably for the future – at a time when easy access to health services in the community and capacity for services away from hospital has perhaps never been more important.”
