#TeamAssura pushed themselves to the limits - all in an effort to raise money for our #AssuraCommunityFund.

14 of us took on the challenge and raised over £7,000 at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens in Malpas, Cheshire, which will be match funded by Assura. This means we've added over £14,000 to our pot of money for charity projects across the UK.

The course involved electric shocks, an ice bath and monkey bars - proving a big challenge for our team.

Molly Davies, our Business Development Intern, said: "Although I spent a week hobbling around, I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge because of all the laughs and giggles I had with the rest of the team, everyone was just fantastic. I got mud in places I didn't even know existed and the bruises the size of watermelons, but it was well worth it and I would definitely do it again."

Jo Cullen, Senior Management Accountant said: "Tough Mudder was extremely challenging, but great fun! It took help from the stronger members of our team to help the rest of us with some of the tougher obstacles. The electric shocks really hurt and wadding through mud up to your chest was unbelievably difficult. I would do it again, but I think I need a period of time to forget how tough it actually was before I face doing it a second time!"

Claire Rick, Head of Public Affairs said: "Getting round those courses takes some real guts and sheer bloody mindedness and I was blown away by the fact that everyone was still smiling by the end! I'm told there were a lot of bruises the next day, but it was an awesome effort and the money raised will do so much for charities across the country."

The fund was launched in 2020 and supports health-improving projects in the communities around our buildings. So far, it has distributed over £800,000 to charities and organisations working across the UK.
