We’ve joined more than 550 businesses to support the Social Mobility Pledge, a community of organisations committed to putting social mobility at the heart of their purpose.
Organisations taking the pledge employ more than 5 million people globally, and the community also includes more than 50 universities representing almost 2 million students with the common understanding that improving opportunity and social mobility is more important than ever as we face the challenges of a growing opportunity gap in the wake of COVID-19.
Under the pledge, we commit to:
•Outreach: We will work to reach out to schools or colleges to provide coaching through quality careers advice, enrichment experience and mentoring to people from disadvantaged backgrounds or circumstances.
•Access: We will work to provide structured work experience and apprenticeship opportunities to people from disadvantaged backgrounds or circumstances.
•Recruitment: We will work to adopt open employee recruitment practices which promote a level playing field for people from disadvantaged backgrounds or circumstances.
