Work to improve our Altrincham office has begun.
- Building work for the major enhancement of our Altrincham head office, has officially begun and should reach completion early in 2026.
- The works will improve the sustainability of the building and offer significantly improved employee amenities, a new roof terrace and outdoor spaces accessible to the local community.
- The works will be carried out in line with our own Net Zero Carbon Design Guide and it is aiming to be the first NABERS UK rated office refurbishment in the north west.
The improvements will create a modern and welcoming environment while also making the building net zero carbon and providing new well-being amenities for employees.
The deep retro-fit aims to be the first NABERS UK rated office refurbishment in the North West,
NABERS UK is a scheme for rating the operational energy efficiency of UK offices. It aims to enhance energy efficiency by measuring and verifying actual in-use energy performance.
Jonathan Murphy, our CEO, said: "It’s absolutely fantastic to see the renovation works begin on our office building. We are a leading business when it comes to sustainability, we were recently certified a B Corp, and we want our headquarters to reflect the importance and value we place on achieving net zero carbon.
“This project enables us to put our Net Zero Carbon Design Guide into action and create the best possible work space for our employees. Our ambition is to be net zero carbon across our portfolio by 2040 and we want our headquarters to reflect and be a part of that goal. This is the latest chapter in a really exciting time for our business.”
The plans for the office include a roof extension, replacement windows, improved insulation to the building fabric and enhanced controls to building services to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy usage.
New workspaces will be open and flexible, allowing for different types of working to promote an inclusive, healthy and positive work environment.
As part of our commitment to the local community, there will also be extensive re-working of the landscaping along Barrington Road and around the site providing a public pocket park, improving biodiversity and offering more outdoor space for employees and the local community.
Paul Warwick, our Director of Sustainability and Projects, said: “We are committed to supporting the NHS to achieve a net zero carbon future by improving the energy efficiency of our entire portfolio. We want our office to be an example of what can be achieved through retrofitting buildings and we remain dedicated to driving progress towards a sustainable future.”
